This week: Arthur Brown’s son, author Julian Wolfendale

“I traced Arthur first through the adoption agency, which took a couple of months as there was no internet then. I wrote him a letter saying I would understand if he didn’t want any contact. He was very glad I had finally tracked him down. We met and I was stunned that there stood not only my father, but he was ‘crazy’ Arthur Brown, known to the world as ‘The God of Hellfire’ and the king of the hippies. I told him who I was, we looked at each other and cried. I didn’t know what to say, or even what to call him. It didn’t matter. I have his eyes.”

Julian Wolfendale’s book, Damaged Goods, is his life story and how he met his biological father at the age of 30, ‘God of Hellfire’ Arthur Brown. Julian was given up at birth, then adopted and went through a tough childhood. With music and topical references from the ’60s, ’70s and ’80s, this story will have you reaching for your record collection.
Damaged Goods is available to download on Kindle and from www.amazon.co.uk
