Gotta Sing, Gotta Dance
This was a whirlwind tour of musicals past and present from a team of just six, young and talented performers. An ambitious idea but they pulled it off. Where they get the energy from I don’t know! There were some eras/musicals I wanted to see more of and less than of others, but presenting a mixed bag meant there was something for everyone. From the off, Rebecca Lisewski gave us the comedy value, but for me it was Simon Adkins whose singing talent shone through after ‘Oh What A Beautiful Morning’, displaying a diverse musical range from American musical (comedic moments) to wonderful baritones in his solo performances. All six performers were outstanding, growing with confidence and ease as the show went on. ‘Singin’ In The Rain’ was a treasure and ‘Relight My Fire’ was energetic fun. The ongoing applause at the end of the show each and every performer truly deserved. Something for everyone and fantastic fun. The show runs until 25 August so if you’re over in Eastbourne be sure to check it out!
