Film: The Bourne Legacy (12A)
Director: Tony Gilroy
The fourth in the action-packed series of dodgy dealings and underhand government agencies sees writer/director Gilroy introduce a new character – Aaron Cross (Jeremy Renner from Avengers: Assemble, Misson Impossible: Ghost Protocol and… well, lots these days). A CIA operative and assassination expert, Renn embarks upon a life-or-death adventure linking on from the previous trilogy.
By the way, in case you were wondering where Matt Damon is, as is also the case in Robert Ludlow’s books – Bourne has become more of an alias for all caught within this government project, which nattily is continuing to involve morally ambiguous Dr Albert Hirsh (Albert Finney) and the more conflicted Pam Landy (Joan Allen).
Also starring Rachel Weisz, Edward Norton, Donna Murphy and Scott Glenn.
Out now, showing at Odeon and Cineworld
