Celebcity with Jo Brooks: Elton John & Jude Law call for peace, plus Oliver Heath, Madness, & Pat Sharp’s day out in Brighton

Eco Oliver

It was lovely to see TV interior designer Oliver Heath at the launch of the world’s first EcoStream store in Brighton last week. The former BBC Changing Rooms designer (pictured here with Steve Bannatyne of EcoStream and Brighton & Hove City Council leader Jason Kitcat) was so impressed with the Western Road refill store that sells household and foodie provisions on tap alongside innovative green products that he tweeted: “Went to launch Brighton’s pioneering EcoStream shop last night – dedicated to refills & cutting packaging – great concept!”

Elton sings for peace
The JBPR office is excited to be heading off to Wembley Arena this week to have a meeting with the amazing Peace One Day organisation who are putting on a gig at the arena on World Peace Day this year (Friday 21 September). The concert will be headlined by Elton John and his band and includes contributions from Jeremy Gilley and Peace One Day ambassador Jude Law. Commenting on his only gig in London this year, Elton John said: “When Jeremy and Jude came to see me and told me about Peace One Day and the Global Truce 2012 campaign I had to get involved and support them. I am looking forward to seeing everyone on the 21st September at Wembley Arena and thrilled that James is joining us for this wonderful event!” For more info on this great cause log onto www.peaceoneday.org

Utter Madness
Our lovely office intern Felix was lucky enough to have the hottest ticket in town on Sunday 12 August, attending the Olympic closing ceremony to witness his dad, lead guitarist in British Ska band, Madness, performing in front of 300 million viewers. He particularly enjoyed the incredible firework display and apart from his dad (of course) his top act of the evening was The Who. My highlight of the evening was seeing Brighton’s finest superstar DJ Fatboy Slim emerge from an inflatable octopus to play a storming set. I cannot wait to see Norman’s set at Pride Brighton & Hove on 1 September – don’t forget to get your ticket and make a donation to local LGBT causes. www.pridebrighton.org

Fun House!
The Fun House came to Brighton last week in the form of DJ and I’m A Celeb… star Pat Sharp. Pat, who was filming for Smooth FM and Hertz, hung out with us for lunch and dinner and even managed to find time to visit Brighton Wheel. We took Pat along to Moshi Moshi for a lovely lunch where he was filmed chatting with owner Karl and enjoying a Moshi Katsu curry. Lisa in the office used to work with Pat at London’s Capital Radio so she was thrilled to be reunited with him. Pat and the Smooth FM crew filmed at Brighton Wheel and Pat posed for pics with some of the staff before taking off for a flight on the wheel and enjoying the stunning views of Brighton. In the evening Pat went to Brighton’s favourite Italian restaurant Donatello – look out for Pat’s day of fun on www.smoothradio.co.uk

Spotted!
Spotted at Gatwick airport, socialite Tim Jeffries. Famous for his celebrity exes Elle MacPherson and Claudia Schiffer, the tanned one was boarding a flight to the Caribbean.
