Hove firefighters rescue kitten from tree
Firefighters from Hove rescued a kitten from a tree in a churchyard after it had been stuck for more than a day up there.
The East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service crew were first called out shortly before 8pm on Saturday (18 August).
The animal had been spotted high up in the tree at the Holy Trinity Church, in Blatchington Road, Hove.
Firefighters were unable to rescue the cat in the fading light and thought that it would come down of its own accord.
It was fed pieces of chicken until crews were able to help the kitten safely down the next day.
On Sunday evening firefighters returned and fought their way through a large amount of undergrowth to reach the black and white cat with a ladder.
