When four guys take an evening a week as their own under the guise of forming a ‘Neighbourhood Watch’, really what they were after was a bit of guy time, watching TV and maybe the odd beer or two. What they didn’t expect was to stumble upon an alien plot to take over the Earth as these invaders adopt the guises of regular suburbanites and plot the downfall of Western civilisation. It’s just not what you expect of a week night.

Starring Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughan, Jonah Hill and (making his big move across the pond) The IT Crowd’s Richard Ayoade, this latest Seth Rogen project is directed by Saturday Night Live’s alumni Akiva Schaffer. Currently receiving mixed reviews – love it or hate it – the flawed but loveable everyman comedy genre has embraced this as its latest addition.
