Alvin Sputnik: Deep Sea Explorer
This one-man puppet show utilises technology and multimedia in a heart-rending story of tragic love and redemption in the face of catastrophic climate change. With a nod to Jules Verne, our hero related his tale to a 1980s’ disco soundtrack and live ballads on the ukulele. The show conveyed a spiritual belief in the afterlife as widower Alvin set out on a quest across a flooded Earth, and finds a light to give him the comfort to carry on. Beautifully performed and full of pathos, this moving tale will have the whole family in cathartic tears.
