Firefighters tackle flood in Brighton flat

Firefighters from Preston Circus Fire Station in Brighton were sent to tackle a flood in a ground-floor flat in the town.

Water was dripping through the ceiling lights.

East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said that one fire engine was sent to the flat in Ditchling Rise, Brighton, at 8.30pm last night (Monday 3 September).

The crew found water pouring through the ceiling of the ground-floor flat.

The firefighters then isolated both the water and electricity supplies and carried out a home safety visit for the occupant.

They gave advice, suggesting that the occupant contact both an electrician and a plumber.
