Brighton Lights Episode 42: Brighton Pride 2012 Special

- September 6, 2012

Brighton Lights 42 sees Guy Lloyd do Pride 2012 with a little help in
Preston Park and on the parade from Alex Turchyn. Already as we go to
press Andy Nicholls’ film has been watched by a lot of people and the
reason I think is that it encapsulates perfectly the two sides of
Pride, the political, emotionally delivered by Peter Tatchell and the
party creatively thrown by Freemasons and Fatboy Slim and the packed
Wild Fruit Dance Tent and the Dame Edna Experience and Legends Cabaret
Tent.
The glamour and the humour is represented by cabaret star Davina
Sparkle while Nicky Mitchell and friends relay the story of women and
Pride from The Women’s Performance Tent.
Caroline Lucas MP, our mayor Cllr Bill Randall and council leader Cllr
Jason Kitcat add their support and it’s official, Caroline raves!
For the first time Pride 2012 was streamed live on internet TV across
the world and I’m proud that with Pride TV and Brian Noonan we played
a part in that. A small part, because hack but true the real stars of
Pride are you. Here’s to freedom!
Enjoy Andy’s film!
