Crash leaves one dead at Brighton Speed Trials
A crash at the Brighton Speed Trials in Madeira Drive today left one person dead and another with serious injuries.
A man and woman in a motorbike and sidecar were unable to stop and crashed into a barrier at about 6.10pm today (Saturday 8 September).
Both were taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton where one was dead on arrival and the other was treated for severe injuries.
Sussex police urged witnesses or anyone with photographs or videos of what happened to call officers on 101.
The speed trials are organised by the Brighton and Hove Motor Club and were first held in 1905.
