Hurray For The Riff Raff

Brighton has been blessed with the best of visiting Americana bands and this night was no exception as the venue was transformed into a Louisiana roadhouse for an evening of good ol’ country tunes.

The New Orleans four-piece, fronted by singer/guitarist and chief songwriter Alynda Lee Segarra,drew us in to their world with a sultry set of bar room ballads. The harmonica added a zydeco feel to the up-tempo numbers and there was even a surf-rock song, with shoop shoops and handclaps that recalled Lee Hazlewood. A couple of perfectly placed covers ended a great night of old-school bar stool swayers.
