Last pier souvenirs for sale as i360 prepares Brighton site

The West Pier Trust is holding a final series of sales as the developers behind the i360 Brighton Eye prepare to start work.

Souvenirs of the West Pier, including original cast iron pieces of the structure, will go on sale for the first time this autumn.

The sale items are either damaged or surplus to requirements, the trust said.

And with work scheduled to start on the i360 next month, the trust said that it had to clear the seafront site.

Rachel Clark, the trust chief executive, said: “Most of the remaining available pieces are large and suitable for gardens.”

All proceeds from sales will go towards the trust’s heritage proposals.

These include the restoration and re-erection of an original 1866 octagonal pier kiosk on the seafront and the development of a Brighton historic seafront schools education programme based at the Brighton Fishing Museum.

The next sale is due to take place on Sunday 30 September from 10am to 12.30pm in the pier compound under the root end.

Anyone with inquiries can contact Rachel Clark on 01273 321499 or rachel@westpier.co.uk.
