Oh My Irma

Canadian Haley McGee’s solo show is a comedic roller-coaster of a confused young woman on the trail to discover why her mother died by confronting a mysterious man and his fat dog, Irma. As “Mission Bird” peels back the layers of history, her tale becomes increasingly disturbed until we are forced to confront some uncomfortable truths about the seemingly likeable protagonist. McGee’s performance was astounding, commanding the stage with confidence and a presence that filled the woefully empty theatre. We left the building stunned. Watch out for McGee, she’s going to be big.
