Best Of The Fest
The second night of Dave’s comedy festival proved to be an eclectic foursome. Opener Alun Cochrane was the unexpected highlight, bringing his deadpan northern observations to life with a dour yet gleeful wit. Paul Chowdry mixed some tour-de-force delivery with some over-aggressive material that didn’t work so well. Sarah Pascoe has the potential to be a fine comic talent, working the feminist angle with great originality. And to finish Abandoman brought their Irish hip-hop improv show with full effect, the MC’s spontaneous rap show revealing a lyrical mastery that bordered on the prodigious. A great start to the festival.
