Elis James – Speaking As A Mother…
Welsh storyteller Elis James was both endearing and articulate, funny and engaging, charming and most of all – playful. It was a quiet audience, as you’d expect from a Monday, but we were thoroughly enjoying his tales of confrontations with Gleswegians and being Twitter trolled by confused One Direction fans. Turning even the story of a Cardiff mugging into a sweet tale, James has a very likeable stage presence that draws you into a re-assuring world of domestic embarrassments and and Welsh language translations that is all too tempting. Gentle yet delivered with an appropriate amount of energy, this was a lovely show.
