Farm Boy
This beautifully written piece is an add-on story to ‘War Horse’ as told by the son and great grandson of the original protagonist ‘The Corporal’. A 1920’s tractor takes centre stage in both set and plot line in a very simple and deeply effective way. The warm, cleverly staged and exquisitely performed double hander covered topics from the First World War, the transition to mechanical agriculture, illiteracy and family bonds. But still linked to the original story of Joey the war horse. A hugely accessible (and, dare I say, important) show for children, short enough to retain their attention. A joy!
