The Story Continues…. Kevin Bridges
Hard to believe he has only been around for a few years, Bridges has to be the most jaded and least youthful 25-year-old on the circuit. Smart, sharp, Glaswegian and reassuringly old-style, Bridges kicks his set off with an energetic routine about the state of the economy and takes us through Scottish independence, lads’ holidays, Saturday football coaches, John Terry, buying his first house, The Old Firm and his own chat show idea: “Did ye? Aye…” – being both the name of the show and the put-down response to guests’ amusing tales. Bridges uses a conversational style, asking direct questions to audience members to introduce subjects – “Been on holiday, big man..?” leads into a section on lads’ holidays. Fittingly, both of the audience picked on were called Dave, a co-incidence not lost on Bridges “It’s your comedy festival, Dave!” Comedy gold.
