Carl Donnelly – Different Gravy

Loosely formatted around the reading of extracts from Donnelly’s unpublished autobiography, which not suffice with covering what has already happened to him also travels ten years into the future, this is a charming and different show. Admittedly there are a great many shows filled with personal anecdotes, but this format is unique, as is his voice which belwideringly seems to be able to move from camp into street gangsta seamlessly – and with much hilarity. It was a chat to friends, a spot of posturing and harmless self-mocking, listing past crimes (in more than one ways) and future pitfalls. A delightful hour.
