Sleeping Beauty

This classic fairy tale presented by The Russian State Ballet and Opera House was brought to life through elegant choreography and the enthralling music of Tchaikovsky. Sleeping Beauty is the story of young princess Aurora who is tricked by an evil fairy and falls into a deep sleep, only to be woken by love’s true kiss. However, with the lack of an intimate venue and a live orchestra, the production on the whole was underwhelming and only loosely based on the tragic tale. Despite dazzling costumes and polished performances, the story progression was rushed, making a brief appearance in the second act, leaving a disappointing final 40 minutes.
