Warning: May Contain Nuts

The excellent Warning: May Contain Nuts saw performers who’ve had experience with mental health issues perform a variety of comical stories, poetry and songs to a packed out crowd. The routines were as diverse as the performers but it was the confident and often hilarious solo performances that really stole the show – whether it was a ‘Que Sera’ parody, mime acting or the exceptional wit and wordplay of the poems on display. As well as humour, thought-provoking reflections, particularly one poem contrasting the lives of politicians and the poor, left me with shivers down my spine. If the goal was to challenge taboos and deliver the unexpected – then it was mission accomplished.
