Stephen Grant

Even Grant was momentarily non-plussed when the first of his audience quarry turned out to be PA to a transexual, celebrity, prostitute. Top that. He did and more…there were some genius rhyming couplets on the 2011 riots, a belter of a sexual tip which drew the night’s biggest laugh (alas unrepeatable) and his chosen theme of becoming a dad. You go to a Grant gig essentially for the audience banter; the lightning wit and word play are added extras ― and he honestly gets better each year. Anyone who can live with him? – I’d struggle to name anyone.
