Terry Alderton
Although some audience members could come away from seeing Terry Alderton thinking he is simply a weirdo, nothing could be further from the truth. For although his show featured manic, Gollum-like commentary, talking shoes and a song with nonsensical shrieks of lyrics there was always a purpose and even some pathos. He is a fine comic writer and impressionist too; several beautifully crafted lines shone through the deceptive stream-of-consciousness and he reduced Lee Evans to a handful of grunts and gestures, repeated to an absurdist degree. If you want to remind yourself why you love live comedy, Alderton is a must.
