The Good Book
The role of a travel booker explained
‘So what is it you actually do?’Another week, another dinner party, another monologue on the life of a travel booker. Come Dine With Me has a lot to answer for. I always seem to attract the same questions when people meet me for the first time; who do I work with? How do I make money? Where do I send people? Every explanation eliciting a surprisingly similar result in all company. I’ve come to the conclusion that most people don’t understand what I do, after all, most people book flights online already.
But regularly travelling for business can take its toll on people. A recent Opinion Panel survey showed that the most common complaint from 32 per cent of business travellers is that they miss their “normal routine”. Business flights are one of the best ways to make a trip more comfortable while away from home but many companies don’t think they have the budget. A good travel booker will always offer a variety of options to help; I book everything from first class tickets to big yellow taxis. Maybe it’s my clients who are most able to tell people exactly what I do. Don’t it always seem to go, that you don’t know what you got till it’s gone.
