Nick Helm: This Is War!

Exploding on to the stage the bombastic Helm beat the audience into submission with extremely loud shouting, military tactics and hard rock. But this front is soon shattered as Helm comically reveals the cracks in his previous relationship, as he compares couples’ interactions as war. The melange of rock songs, poetry, corny one-liners and fizzy drink-based re-enactments of The Deer Hunter, flow fast and furious, interspersed with genuine pathos. Helm deploys weapons of mass hilarity, getting the entire audience of “losers” on their feet for a rousing finale. Big and bonkers.
