Field Music
The Sunderland four piece returned to town in support of their stunning fourth album ‘Plumb’ and performed a set that showed just why they are lauded by fans and critics alike. The Brewis brothers’ harmonies, Sparks-like at times, sang out over the pounding drums and the immense, intense sound created by keys and guitars; with David’s falsetto used to great effect. Each song was an elaborate piece of abstract art with many segueing into the next; making applause superfluous.
This was music with brains and balls for the mind and feet alike, from possibly Britain’s bravest and most emotionally intelligent band.
