Jack Savoretti – Breaking The Rules

Beauty, talent and great acoustic music delighted the enthusiastic crowd as Jack Savoretti opened his UK tour. The triple bill included both BBC Radio 2 favourite Moya and rising star Karima Francis, who sports a haircut and attitude like Prince and a voice like Tracy Chapman. Savoretti’s husky vocals and sexy blend of Americana rock and melancholy ballads conjured up images of cowboys, lonely highways and spaghetti westerns. Not bad for an Italian/English 29 year old with classic retro melodies, great lyrics and a superb cover version of ‘Ring of Fire’. Savoretti was manly, sensitive, troubled and romantic. What’s not to like?
