Events: Fireworks Night

A guide to the loudest and biggest bonfire celebrations across Sussex

Bonfire Night returns, dedicated to bonfires, fireworks and all round loud, bright and exciting celebrations. Brighton & Hove and its surrounding areas are continuing with their traditional displays, and we have a run down of which ones make for great entertainment.

The Nevill Road firework display is designed for everyone, especially families with children. Lasting approximately 25 minutes, the spectacular display is choreographed to a fantastic musical soundtrack, so listen out for some very familiar tunes and a few surprises too. Food stalls will be open all evening, and glow sticks and flashing toys will be on sale at stalls inside the grounds. The Heart Angels will be doing glow-in-the-dark face painting and taking photos for www.heart.co.uk
Nevill Road, Hove, opposite Greyhound Stadium, Sat 3 November, gates open at 5pm, display at 6.30pm, £6 adult, £4 children advance, £8 adult, £5 children on the night.

The Lewes Bonfire Night is the biggest bonfire night celebration happening in the UK, and continues until 1am for all the hardcore bonfire boys and belles. There are different sites across the town holding individual displays, including: Cliffe Bonfire Society, Commercial Square, Ye Olde Lewes Borough, South Street, Southover and Waterloo Bonfire Society. Expect processions, bonfires, tabs, set pieces, effigies and firework displays in various parts of the town. The centre of town is not suitable for young children.
