Celebrated Head Chef Alex Boudot launches new menu at Terraces Restaurant & Bar



Terraces Restaurant & Bar is excited to introduce new head chef, Alex Boudot, offering fabulous food at moderate prices, in a relaxed environment. Originally from Beaune in Burgundy, Alex joins with a wealth of experience, particularly having spent much of his training in Italy, and has launched a fantastic new menu.

The menu, all of which is made in house from scratch, specialises in steak and fish but has more unusual dishes too, including starters such as bone and marrow oxtail, homemade ravioli and pumpkin gnocchi, that truly melts in the mouth.

The specialist cut Onglet steak is fantastic quality, served with hand crafted, triple cooked chips. Alex’s signature dish, the meaty seared and oven baked fillet of Gurnard, wrapped in prosciutto, is described as ‘a beautifully balanced dish’. The cheese board includes a divine selection, all locally sourced from Sussex’s ‘The Cheese Man’, one of our favourites being the Sussex Blue. Alternatively the homemade desserts, such as the tarte tatin or homemade ice cream, are not to be missed; flavours include calvados, rhubarb, cherry, ginger and all spice.

And you can always just pop in for a drink! Even the complimentary biscuit of the day, served with their delicious hot chocolate, teas or coffees, arrives warm from the oven.

Whether you’re stopping for coffee, lunch or dinner, or even a drink at the bar, surely there’s no better place this winter to enjoy panoramic sea views, snuggled next to their roaring open fireplace? Especially with the addition of their ‘life defining hot chocolates’ to include the ‘bees nuts’ with peanut butter and honey comb plus the ‘big warm hug’ – Baileys, crème de cacao and a chocolate truffle– divine!

In celebration of the launch of the new menu, enjoy their introductory offer of complimentary starter or dessert, Monday to Friday, with every main course purchased. The venue also has a private function room ideal for all events from 20 – 200, with an outdoor terrace and fantastic sea views.
