Two Portslade men bailed over attack in Brighton
Two men from Portslade have been arrested after a man was attacked in Brighton in broad daylight.
The attack happened in Donald Hall Road on the Bristol Estate as the victim was walking into the town centre just over a week ago.
The victim, who is in his early twenties and from Brighton, was treated at the Royal Sussex County Hospital for severe bruising to his body.
He was discharged the same day – Sunday 28 October.
Sussex Police issued an appeal for witnesses.
Detective Constable Emily Hoare said: “This is a particularly nasty incident that occurred during daylight hours.
“Police are keen to hear from anybody who was in the area at the time of the incident.”
Anyone who saw the attack is asked to call Sussex Police on 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
A 20-year-old man and a 22-year-old man have been arrested on suspicion of attempted grievous bodily harm.
They were interviewed and released on police bail until Thursday 20 December while inquiries continue.
