EasyStar All Stars – Thrillah

The EasyStar All Stars have a history of bringing some of the best musical talents in dub together in order to bring the soulful and powerful genre to a whole new audience. Previous projects have included ‘Dub Side Of The Moon’ and ‘Lonely Heart’s Dub Band’, covering the iconic albums of Pink Floyd and The Beatles in their own splendid and fully dubbed up style. It was a risk to put Michael Jackson’s iconic bestseller of pop ‘Thriller’ into the foreground of their next musical focus, but one that paid off. Like a songbook of dub, this was a feelgood party with everyone invited. We were all in tune – literally, at times, with a glorious set list peppered with the band’s own classics along with great renditions of ‘The Girl Is Mine’, ‘Beat It’, ‘Thriller’, and a ‘Wanna Be Starting Something’ so good it brought a tear to my eye. Bringing dub to the masses with a treat for the senses.
