MADE12, Brighton’s Design and Craft Fair, returns to the Corn Exchange on Friday 23 November. Supported by Coast Magazine, MADE is a high quality, contemporary craft and design event that takes place every November in the beautiful Corn Exchange, next to the historic Royal Pavilion. MADE12 offers the public the opportunity to buy original and exceptional work direct from the best local and national designer/makers and has become firmly established as a friendly, accessible and top quality fair.
In 2011, the event attracted more visitors than ever, with over 6,500 people coming through the doors. The majority were delighted with the originality and quality of work across all disciplines. MADE12 will showcase over 100 makers and designers. From colourful glassware to the softest knitted textiles, elegant ceramics to dazzling jewellery, and luxurious leather to quirky accessories, there is something for everyone. Work is priced between £20 and £1,500.
The Private View takes place on the evening of Thursday 22 November, and is by invitation only. During the evening, the fair will be officially opened by Alex Fisher, features editor of Coast magazine. There will be a glass of wine on arrival for each visitor, generously supplied by Harvey’s of Lewes. Canapés will be on offer, each handmade by local caterers Elizabeth Caton. The fair will open to the public from 11am on Friday 23 November.
Bespoked Bristol, the UK Handmade Bicycle Show, will be bringing some fabulous handmade bicycles along to display in the foyer. Bespoked was set up to promote the international art of the handmade bicycle, and to showcase the craft and passion of beautiful bicycles and the importance for the makers and designers to have the opportunity to promote their work to the public.
A café provides a place for visitors to relax, eat cake, take refreshment and contemplate purchases.
