Remakes are always curious beasts, but with the original starring Michael Caine and Shirley MacLaine being so much fun, it’s good the powers that be have invested in such a class cast as Colin Firth and Cameron Diaz, (not to mention Alan Rickman) for the reboot. Essentially it’s an art con combined with comedy. Larks.
