Brighton charity Rockinghorse hopes to raise thousands from latest campaign

The Brighton charity Rockinghorse hopes to have raised £3,000 from its Dress as an Elf on the Twelfth fundraising campaign.

Brighton and Hove High School, the Hilton Brighton Metropole and Austin Rees were among those taking part on Wednesday (12 December).

The campaign involved wearing red and green or even full elf costumes for a “dress-down” day at school and work.

Those taking part donated £1 towards Rockinghorse’s drive to raise funds for sick children and babies.

Grovelands staff take part in Dress as an Elf for the Twelfth for the Rockinghorse Children’s Charity

The children’s charity is aiming to raise £3,000 for the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital and the Trevor Mann Baby Unit to help purchase life-saving and cutting-edge medical equipment.

The charity said: “Dress as an Elf on the Twelfth was kindly sponsored by Grovelands who also took part in the Christmas fundraising campaign.

“Employees of the Brighton-based recruitment company got into the Christmas spirit and held their own ‘best dressed elf’ competition, with Emilia Powell winning first place.”

Rachel Gooch, from Grovelands, said: “We were proud to sponsor Dress as an Elf on the Twelfth and support Rockinghorse Children’s Charity.

“The Grovelands team had a fantastic day and everyone made a big effort to dress as elves and take part in our staff competition. It went down a treat!”

Rockinghorse senior fundraiser Allie Polhill said: “Dress as an Elf on the Twelfth was fantastic fun and we’re so grateful to all the schools and businesses who took part.

“The money raised will make a big difference to local children, including those at the Alex this Christmas.”
