Funnyman Keith Lemon popped down to Brighton the other week to sign copies of his self-titled film which was released on DVD in time for Christmas. Our intern Felix was lucky enough to get a personal tweet from the Celebrity Juice front man agreeing to sign his face – how obliging.
Sir CLiff’s still rockin’
Sir Cliff is next inline to take to the stage at the PROBIZ County Cricket Ground in Hove next year. The gig on 15 June will see the Christmas single maestro follow the likes of Sir Elton John and JLS with his ‘Still Reelin’ and A-Rockin’ tour which, we can only imagine, will be as fun as its name suggests. Fabulous Brighton-based fashion designers AlliumB joined me at a client evening at Trevor Sorbie Brighton last week, where Clare Burgess, co-owner of AlliumB showcased her latest collection. Not only are their dresses beautifully cut and versatile; they also have a host of celeb fans rushing to get one into their closet. New mum Adele is a fan, together with TV presenter Kate Garraway and Olympian and Strictly Come Dancing star, Victoria Pendleton wore hers in a fab fashion shoot in celeb bible OK! Magazine. Connor’s new look
Brighton meets Bow on the latest single from Conor Maynard which features the East London rapper Wiley. The music video debuted last week showing a rather more grimy side to Maynard’s look (no doubt influenced by his latest bad boy mate) with muchos dark tunnels and flashing lights. It’s the fourth single to be released from his number one selling album Contrast and it hits stores late next month. We wish all the best to the ‘Vegas Girl’ singer, who has gone from strength to strength since his Brighton-based YouTube videos went viral.
What’s in a name?
Tut tut, Adele… The singer and her Brightonian boyfriend, Simon Konecki, failed to register their new baby boy (whose name is yet to be released to the public) within the 42-day limit. As such the Skyfall singer has reportedly been fined £1,000, although we doubt that will make too much of a dent in her earnings after it was recently announced that her second album 21 has now sold over 25 million copies worldwide.
Spotted!
Peep Show’s Super Hans taking a wander through Kensington Gardens. After quitting his band with Jeremy in the show’s latest season, airing now on Channel 4, it seems the full time fantasist, and part-time crack addict (in the show people, not real life – keep up) has a bit more spare time on his hands. What will he do next?
Harry Potter’s Mr Weasley, aka Mark Williams (of The Fast Show ‘suits you sir’ fame), on Brighton’s North Street, presumably stocking up on Xmas gifts. Won’t find many chocolate frogs or Nimbus broomsticks in Churchill square though!
