Martha Reeves and the Vandellas

Time catches up with all of us eventually, and at the age of 71 it was inevitable that Martha Reeves wasn’t going to be quite as impressive as in her 60’s heyday. But while the Motown legend’s voice may now lack some of the punch of her prime, her energy and stagecraft were as captivating as ever. Mixing all her classic hits with a selection b-sides, lesser-known tracks and Christmas songs, Reeves and her impressive backing band produced an engaging and entertaining performance, full of warmth, fun and good old-fashioned soul.
