Sussex County Cricket Club appoints new chief executive

Sussex County Cricket Club has appointed a new chief executive to take over from Dave Brooks.

Zac Toumazi arrives at the County Ground in Hove next month after working as group commercial director for Hampshire and previously Surrey.

At Hampshire he played a key role in staging the first test match at the Rose Bowl and in the sponsorship talks to name the ground the Ageas Bowl.

He spent almost two years with Hampshire and more than six years at Surrey where he developed the commercial side of the Oval.

Before joining Surrey he worked in the financial services sector with Salomon Brothers, which is now part of Citigroup, and Goldman Sachs.

Sussex said: “Zac has a track record of developing business and delivering excellent customer service.

“He has extensive experience in the financial services sector having fulfilled senior roles with Citigroup and Goldman Sachs before joining the cricket world.”

County chairman Jim May said: “Dave Brooks leaves us in great shape this month after four outstanding years as chief executive.

“We had a very strong group of candidates who applied to succeed him.

“We are very pleased to appoint Zac as we believe his commercial experience, cultural fit and passion for cricket give him the credentials to ensure that Sussex Cricket continues to lead the way both on and off the pitch.”

Zac Toumazi said: “I am very excited about being appointed chief executive.

“I look forward to working with the entire team taking Sussex Cricket forward while preserving the values that make it so special.”
