New Year, new striker?

Following the rearranged Boxing Day fixture versus Millwall, it felt as if Christmas had come early for Millwall as Guy Poyet sent out what could charitably be called, an “experimental” formation. Gus had the wisdom and good grace to accept responsibility as Albion were gifting the game to them in the first half, nicely wrapped in blue and white ribbons. Fortunately, at half time, Mr Poyet rediscovered his inner Grinch (you don’t see them both in the same room, do you?) and performed a football version of that other festive classic, The Great Escape. Once again the misfiring strikers were to the fore, but at least The Albion rescued a point. Samuel Beckett once wrote a play called Waiting For Godot, he must have known what it felt like to wait for the transfer window to open.
