Brighton police searching for podgy bald man after sexual assault
A woman was sexually assaulted in the centre of Brighton as she waited for a bus to Lewes.
Sussex Police released a CCTV image of the suspect who is alleged to have stroked the woman’s bottom.
The incident happened as the woman waited for the number 28 bus at the Old Steine in Brighton at about 3.20pm on Friday 21 December.
PC David Rose, from the Brighton and Hove Response Investigation Team, said: “A 19-year-old woman was inappropriately touched while waiting at the Old Steine for the number 28 bus to Lewes.
“Inquiries to date have been unable to identify the man we wish to speak to and we are hoping that by releasing these CCTV images he will come forward in order that we can eliminate him from our inquiries.”
He was described as white, 5ft 4in tall, about 55 years old, bald, overweight and with a protruding belly. He was wearing a dark blue coat at the time of the alleged incident.
Anyone who recognises the man or who has any information about the incident is asked to call Sussex Police on 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
