Police release CCTV image of Hove shop break-in

Police have published a CCTV image of a break-in at the Co-op supermarket in Hangleton Road, Hove.

Two men smashed a glass panel and stole cigarettes worth thousands of pounds from the shop at about 5am on Wednesday 9 January.

One of the burglars was wearing a black hoodie with Nike written down the left arm, dark trousers, a grey T-shirt and a dark hat and scarf.

The other burglar wore a black hoodie with grey stripe around the hood and grey tracksuit bottoms with a vertical light grey stripe.

Detective Sergeant Ariarna Giles said: “We are keen to talk to anyone who was out early that morning, possibly making their way to work.

“CCTV captures two men entering the store. Do you recognise them?

“There were a number of people in the area at the time.

“If they saw two men acting suspiciously or driving off in a silver coloured car they should contact detectives.”

Any witnesses or anyone with information is asked to contact Sussex Police on 101.
