Driver suffers broken jaw in Brighton road rage attack
A driver from Brighton has been arrested after a road rage attack left another driver with a broken jaw.
Police asked witnesses to come forward after the attack on the A259 seafront road at about 6.30pm last Thursday (17 January).
Sussex Police said that it took place between Rottingdean and Saltdean on the eastbound side of the road.
The force said: “The drivers of a black Ford Fiesta and a silver Vauxhall Astra become involved a road rage type altercation which resulted in the 35-year-driver of the Astra suffering a broken jaw and being treated in hospital.”
The other driver, a 25-year-old man from Brighton, was arrested on suspicion of assault causing grievous bodily harm and released on bail until Friday 1 March.
Detective Constable Ed Downes said: “This happened when traffic conditions were busy and I am appealing for any witnesses to come forward to help establish what happened.”
