Start off the gardening year with Seedy Sunday at the Corn Exchange

It may still be deep winter but thoughts turn to spring next Sunday 3 February with the annual Seedy Sunday, the UK’s largest community seed swap event, this year moving to Brighton’s Corn Exchange. Seedy Sunday is a great way for gardeners and allotmenteers to start the gardening year.

More than 1,500 people are expected to enjoy 50 stalls from a wide range of charities, community groups and businesses, all with a gardening, growing, food or campaigning focus.

Highlights of the day include TV botanist James Wong who headlines the speakers’ programme and the seed swap table itself, where more than 10,000 packets of seeds, from the commonest vegetables to the rarest garden flowers, will be swapped for seeds saved from last year, or for a 50p donation.
