Hove property among first advertised on new government website

A property that contains offices and consulting rooms in Hove is among the first to be advertised for sale to the public on a new government website.

The unwanted property – at 54 New Church Road – is advertised for sale on Find Me Some Government Space which went live today (Friday 25 January).

The government aims to operate the website along the same lines as commercial sites such as Rightmove.

It includes more than 300 properties to rent and about 900 to buy across the country.

The property in Hove is a former detached house with garage being sold by Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.

Cabinet Office Minister Chloe Smith said: “Not only will this website help to save government money but we will see new opportunities, jobs and growth in local economies as new life is brought into empty unused properties.”
