Madagascar Live

Following on from Shrek: The Musical, comes another Dreamworks stage production, this time Madagascar. In these belt-tightening times the limited cast size and backing tracks gave the feeling of an appropriately austere production, but the costumes and stage design compensated. While the show felt a tad lackluster in the first half, it picked up after the interval, and had the smaller members of the audience dancing in the isles with the ubiquitous track, ‘I Like to Move It’. As in the film, the penguins are the stand-out act. My young companion enjoyed it immensely. Perfect entertainment for the under 10s.
