Bent Double
Bent Double feels like it has grown into a home for queer comedy (and its friends) with its dedicated following and stellar line-ups each month. Tonight was no exception. With Zoe Lyons as compère steering the ship in all sorts of depraved and ridiculous directions, opening act Suzi Ruffell held her own with an energetic set. Carly Smalltalk’s crass songs (and a Bon Jovi cover?!?) went down well, but a little less jubilation at how well her own jokes are going would be better. Our debonair and astute headliner Tom Allen was a total triumph. Outrageously cutting with more wit than you can shake a M&S Blue Harbour slipper at. Miss him (or cross him) at your own peril.
