Brighton school smoke-logged by electrical fire

An electrical fire left a Brighton school smoke-logged early yesterday morning (Sunday 3 February).

Six fire crews and the aerial ladder platform were sent to Brighton and Hove High School in Montpelier Road, Brighton, shortly after 5am.

East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said that the school had reported a strong smell of burning and firefighters were sent to investigate.

When they arrived at the school they found it heavily smoke-logged because of a small electrical fire.

The fire service said: “No one was injured or evacuated and the cause of the fire is believed to be accidental. Crews left the incident one hour later.”
