Paloma Faith

Sassy songstress Paloma Faith gained a standing ovation at the Brighton Centre last night as she sang the hugely anticipated final platinum record, picking up the pieces from her latest album ‘Fall to Grace’. Her band were an eclectic bunch, reminiscent of club tropicana, soulful divas as backing vocals, Robert Palmer look-a-likes and classical piano talent. The avant-garde stage design complemented her neo burlesque style as an explosion of blue glitter fell through her outstretched limbs, crimson backcombed locks and tight white fishtail gown for the final number.

She fittingly described herself as “trendy and elegant” as she sipped her “cuppa tea” and chatted informally in her adorable Hackney accent. Paloma covered an Etta James song as tribute to her mother, which was fantastic. She seemed genuinely pleased to be in Brighton, though a little disappointed she hadn’t been able to find a stick of rock with Paloma through it, instead having to settle for “Keith”. Next time Paloma, we promise!
