Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo

You must love ballet to get the most from this extravaganza, and it would be hard to love it as much as these chaps. A troupe of hirsute, hunky lads and men present generous helpings of great ballet, lightly touched with gentle pastiche and buffoonery. I was worried that ‘the joke’ of men ‘en pointe’ and in tutus would pall – and so it did, surpassed by very sharp parody, dozens of subtle jokes, brilliant routines and show-stoppers. With these happy fellows dance clearly comes first. They are in a class of their own, and that is truly world class!
