The Strawbs

With one foot firmly planted in folk, the other hopping between prog rock, blues, rock even a touch of glam rock few bands have blended so many styles with such success. It’s fair to say the remaining members are no spring chickens, however the energy they give each song was incredibly impressive: biled anger with some material, gentile and soft on others. The songs spanned the full cannon of their catalogue. From early hits such as ‘The Man Who Called Himself Jesus’, ‘Witchwood’ and ‘New Place’ to more contemporary numbers like ‘Cold Steel’. This was a delightful evening of impressive musicianship.
