Villagers

Shortlisted for both the Mercury Prize and the Choice Music Prize thanks to their debut album, it was no surprise that indie folk band Villagers were playing to an excitable crowd at a sold out venue last night. Having toured with acts such as Tracy Chapman and Elbow, also with the super success of first album ‘Becoming A Jackal’, Villagers have really made a name for themselves in the folk world. Tonight, people were buzzing to hear the Irish lads perform their second album, ‘Awayland’ and there was no disappointment. With a new complexity and natural progression, Villagers have achieved an even more pleasing sound which the crowd were more than ecstatic to see.
