Events: Sussex Beer and Cider Festival
Wet your whistle with a choice of nearly 240 beers at this year’s Sussex Beer & Cider festival
As the demand for real ale shows no sign of slowing down, the Sussex Beer and Cider Festival returns, with a record number of beers on sale in its 23rd year to tickle all taste buds. Get ready for an excellent selection of ciders, perries, country wines and bottled beers from both Britain and abroad.
The downstairs LocAle bar will only be selling beers from Sussex breweries so expect to find the likes of locally brewed beers such as Laughing Frog, Ruby Mild, Ropetackle Golden Ale, Black Pearl and Legless Rambler.
On the Saturday night there will be live music from folk band The Sex Pirates. The band are rootsy, fiddle-driven and banjo-bashing, promising to get you dancing, or even your feet tapping.
Tickets for the festival are available from the Brighton Centre, Evening Star, Sir Charles Napier Brighton; Beer Essentials, Horsham; Bell, Hove; Gardeners Arms, Lewes’ Buckingham Arms, Shoreham and Selden Arms, Worthing. Tickets for the festival always sell very quickly so to avoid disappointment on the day, it is advisable to buy tickets for all of the sessions.
Hove Centre, Thurs 28 February–Saturday 2 March 2013, 5pm–11pm in the evenings, 11am–3pm, Fri & Sat lunchtime, ticket prices vary from £4–£8, see www.sussexbeerfestival.co.uk
